When You Step Out Publicly about Your Spiritual Path and Get Smacked Down

Have you ever mustered up the courage to tell someone something really important about your spiritual journey only to be smacked down like a bug?

It feels horrible.

Many Christians struggle to reconcile metaphysics and their Christian faith journey, and I am honored to help them on this particular path. For many people in my tribe, it is a huge deal to tell someone that they are exploring metaphysical realities like vibration, chakras, and divine messages. When loved ones react poorly, it feels like a major setback, resulting in depression, anxiety, and a loss of focus.

So, what is the secret to having this milestone be successful?

Let me begin with what not to do.

A huge mistake that many people make is engaging in this conversation far too soon in their journey before they have the metaphysical tools solidly in place that will support them. It is too easy to crumple under pressure on an emotional level and feel torn down by the desires of others. When Christians begin to experience the beauty of metaphysics, they are excited (naturally!) — but sharing too soon can be damaging.

Now let me suggest some steps that will make this part of the journey a little easier for you.

1) Get solid on your foundations so that you can raise your vibration to the highest place possible. From this place, and only from this place, begin to tell others who you suspect may not be supportive about your journey. Why wait? For one reason, and one reason only: when you are vibrating at a high level, it won’t matter what other people say to you about your journey. Seriously: they can call you demonic, hurl insults, Bible verses, or the kitchen sink and it won’t matter to you. Raise your own vibration and no one will be able to lower your vibration to their level.

When you are vibrating at a high level, you will be able to allow others to have their own reactions independent of you. They can have their own feelings and struggles — to which they are absolutely entitled — but it won’t affect you and your convictions. In fact, you’ll be vibrating at such a high level that you’ll be able to draw on healing, chakra-soothing, energy and offer it to the other person (even if they’re unaware of it).

2) Get clear on your message. When you have some clarity of thought about what you are experiencing and how you draw together the many pieces of your journey, including Scripture, then you are ready to have a conversation. You will already be vibrating at a high level (see step 1), so what you say will be cogent, well thought-out, and ready to go, even if people disagree with you. Do your homework, and get clear on what your message is.

3) Let your life speak for itself. The New Testament speaks eloquently about the fruits of the Spirit: “the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control” (Galatians 5:22–23). Getting into complete alignment with metaphysics as a deep part of your Christian journey will yield these fruits of the Spirit in your life. In some ways, the verbal message that you give (see step 2) will not be nearly as important as showing your loved ones the workings of the Holy Spirit in your own life.

4) Have a community at your back. Yes, there are other Christians out there who are into metaphysics. Find them. Value them. Be supportive of them. Let them be supportive of you.

Are you someone who is ready to have metaphysics as part of your daily life? The four steps explored above of high vibration, clarity of message, letting your life speak for itself, and a supportive community are all vital to your success. I invite you to consider joining my tribe of Christians who are bettering their lives every single day by applying metaphysics to their daily faith life.
